The Founder of Usui Reiki
Mikao Usui (1865–1926) is considered the founder of the modern Reiki system. The Japanese scholar and spiritual teacher developed a method in the early 20th century that was intended to provide access to inner harmony, mindfulness, and universal life energy.
After an intensive spiritual search and meditation on Mount Kurama in Japan, Usui began sharing his insights and guiding people through Reiki. He founded the Usui Reiki Ryōhō Gakkai and trained numerous students who helped spread the Reiki practice further.
The principles taught by Mikao Usui and the mindful practice of Reiki continue to form the foundation of many Reiki traditions around the world. His teachings represent personal development, compassion, and a conscious approach to oneself and others.
